Electronic Art

\Electronic Art is a form of electronic media. Considered an outgrowth of conceptual art, Electronic art includes a wide array of different medias and art concepts. These include pieces such as glitch art, electric lighting, informative art, video art, digital art, interactive art and even digital music. It is an ever-changing art form.


Contemporary Animation

Contemporary animation ranges from 2D cell animation. to vector animation, to stop-motion and 3D animation. Animation as an art form in the context of a gallery is something I greatly appreciate because it is a skill that not everyone has.


Video Installation

Video Installation is a contemporary art form that combines video technology with installation art, making use of all aspects of the surrounding environment to affect the audience. Video installation is similar to many of the other areas of digital art. One such example is Nam Jun Paik. I enjoyed how the pieces are all interactive with their peers.


Web Art

Web Art is a form of digital artwork distributed via the internet. This form of art has circumvented the traditional dominance of the gallery and museum system, delivering aesthetic experiences via the internet. In many cases, the viewer is drawn into some kind of interaction with the work of art. Artists working in this manner are sometimes referred to as Net Artists.


Project Mapping

Project Mapping is video mapping and spatial augmented reality. This involves projecting animation onto a 3D Space. Artists in this area include Michael Naimark, Miguel Chevalier,Sougwen Chung's, Robert Siedel, and Claudio Sinatti. Works of art may or may not be interactive.


Art and Ecology

The field of art and ecology explores how technology can interface with nature.The Revival Field used special plants to absorb toxic metals and oxides to bring back life. Another project is the Biomodd project. Plants were used in a symbiotic relationship to power old computers. I could continue, but in summery, Art and Ecology is a very broad field that has many different areas of work within it.
